BATUMI, June 5, 2026 – One of Spain's most respected football clubs is coming to Georgia's Black Sea coast. Villarreal CF will celebrate its first-ever campus in Georgia from July 6 to 10, 2026, at the Leonidze Training Ground in Batumi.
The best part? Participation is completely free.
The camp is organized in collaboration with Sports Orient, a Georgian sports marketing and consulting agency specializing in image rights, match organization, legend activations, content marketing, youth tournament organization, and other sports projects. And one of Sports Orient's partners is none other than Georges Mikautadze – Villarreal's Georgian star striker.
A Historic Partnership
Mikautadze, Villarreal's number 9, led the team in the Submarine's historic 72-point season, becoming the club's top scorer with 15 goals. For young Georgian footballers, he is living proof that the path to top European football is real.
"Our partner Georges Mikautadze, Villarreal's top scorer in his first season at the club, is an inspiration for thousands of teenagers and future footballers in Georgia. That's why it's important for us to create an opportunity for Georgian players to gain knowledge and valuable experience from Villarreal's coaches."
— Oto Mumladze, CEO of Sports Orient
Who Can Participate?
The campus is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 14. Training sessions will be led by official Villarreal coaches traveling from Spain specifically for this event, alongside local Georgian coaches.
Unlike most international football camps – which can cost hundreds of euros – there is no participation fee. The organizers have made this a core principle of the event.
"This is one of the most valuable parts of the campus: ensuring that not only children whose families can afford it, but also those who love football and lack similar opportunities, have the chance to participate. The players will train according to Villarreal's principles and methodology, under the guidance of Spanish and local coaches."
— Oto Mumladze, CEO of Sports Orient
The Grand Prize: Two Players Go to Spain
Here's what every young footballer will be dreaming about: Two standout participants will be selected to take part in an official Villarreal CF tournament in Spain during the next season.
They will:
- Train under Villarreal's methodology
- Compete in an official club tournament
- Experience life at a top La Liga academy
- Follow the same path that Mikautadze took
"All participants will work directly with our Villarreal coaches, and selected players will take part in an official Villarreal tournament – offering a real pathway to play in Spain. A path that they can already see is possible thanks to Mikautadze."
— Brandon Páramo, International Business Manager of Villarreal CF
