The Georgian Tourism Authority recently reported that Tbilisi, Batumi, and Kutaisi were among the most popular destinations for international tourists in Georgia in 2025.
The survey allowed respondents to select multiple destinations, providing a better overview of which places were most visited by foreign tourists and which destinations were particularly in demand.
Tbilisi remains the hotspot of Georgian tourism, welcoming 3.76 million international visitors in 2025 – an 11% increase compared to the previous year. The capital city accounted for a remarkable 33% of the country's total tourism revenue.
Batumi, the popular Black Sea coastal city, came in second with 2.6 million visitors, representing 23% of total tourist arrivals. It also saw a 5% increase compared to 2024. Among the most popular attractions for Batumi visitors are the Botanical Garden, the Gonio Fortress, and the beach resort of Kvariati in the Adjara region.
Kutaisi came in third place with 631,000 international tourists, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. Tourists visiting Kutaisi often made a side trip to attractions such as the Gelati Monastery, the Bagrati Cathedral, and the Tskaltubo Caves.
Mountain destination Kazbegi recorded 592,000 visitors, securing fourth place. Kazbegi also saw a 16% increase compared to the previous year. The historic city of Mtskheta came in fifth with 542,000 tourists.
These trends show that Georgia is becoming increasingly popular as a travel destination – both for nature and culture enthusiasts and for beachgoers. Cities like Tbilisi and Batumi, in particular, are proving to be real hotspots for international tourists!
